AIMS Workshop: The Foundation Stones for Supporting the Physiological Process in Pregnancy and Birth

When: 22nd October 2025
Venue: Online
Cost: £20 for AIMS and Doula UK members, £30 for others

Join us for an interactive online AIMS workshop: "The Foundation Stones for Supporting the Physiological Process in Pregnancy and Birth".

In this workshop discussion we will:

  • Share knowledge about Consent, Salutogenesis (including self-efficacy) and the autonomic nervous system and how these concepts hang together beautifully to provide a scientific and evidence-based rationale for supporting the physiological process in every pregnancy and birth situation.
  • Discuss the implications for informing personal decision-making and that of others
  • Reflect on the implications for practice as doulas, educators, midwives or doctors

Led by Alex Smith (AIMS Journal Editor and Helpline volunteer) and Nadia Higson (principal author of "The AIMS Guide to Induction of Labour")

The ticket price includes an £9 voucher for the AIMS shop so you can buy the book of your choice and we will cover the postage too. Please follow this link https://www.tickettailor.com/events/aims/1820864

Tickets cost just £20 for AIMS and Doula UK members, £30 for others. If you are not already an AIMS Member and would like to consider supporting AIMS, then you can find details here: Join AIMS - Become a Member

We are offering two free place for student midwives on each of our workshops, and we would also like to offer reduced price tickets to anyone who would find the full amount difficult to afford. Please email admin@aims.org.uk with your details including the workshop you would like to attend.
